This boho style writing desk has been sanded in stages then painted with copper & iron, oxidizing paints. A rust accelerator has then been applied to the painted portions of the desk. The rust accelerator reacts to the metal, (real copper & iron particles), within the paint, creating an actual patina rust finish on the wood.
The entire desk has been sealed with a clear coat finish, inside & out, for added durability.
The drawer pulls have been done in a rusted iron finish to match the desks frame. The desk’s drawer faces have ornate wood carved detailing. The drawer sides have been accented with lace detailing, (only visible when the drawers are pulled out).
The back of the vintage desk has been done with the same oxidized iron finish as the front & sides. Placed against a wall or as a stand alone piece in the middle of the room, this desk looks great from any angle. (Even the screws that secure the drawer pulls have been done in an rusted iron finish to match the outside of the desk’s frame.)
